Abstract

MORATO, Henriette Tognetti Penha et al. Individual psychological accompaniment in the FEBEM/SP: an invitation to take care of yourself. Imaginario [online]. 2005, vol.11, n.11, pp. 137-160. ISSN 1413-666X.

This article intends to consider some questionings concerning a modality of psychological practice to individual accompaniment to adolescent who committed felonies. It was elaborated from the experience in projects of university extension of the Laboratory of Studies and Practices in Phenomenological and Existential Psychology, of the Institute of Psychology of the University of São Paulo (LEFE/IP-USP). The theoretical reference that guides our work is the Person-centered Approach and a reading of the Existential Phenomenology. Considering that the psychologist has in himself the most important instrument of work, we will tell our experience, articulating it with theoretical reflections in order to communicate and argue our understanding in relation to it - not in a technical way, but in a critical one based on the psychologist‘s listening and attention to a person in a given context.

Keywords : Individual psychological accompaniment; FEBEM; Institutionalization.
