Abstract

The aim of this research was to verify wich areas of scientific knowledge integrated the Globo-Ciência programmation, a program that is broadcasted by Rede Globo de Tevevisão, also observing what strategies and materials were employed as didatic resourse. The necessary information were obtained from the Globo- Ciência programation catalog (1984-1994). The results point Technological and Earth Sciences as the most frequent, corresponding to 49,65% of programation, in second plase is Health Sciences, corresponding to 21,42%, with little space left for the others. Conceming the strategies employed, Research was the category more often used in presentation of the programs, with 31,9%. The conclusion is that perhaps in correlation to the sciences wich represented the mayor part of programation, research was prefered as a teaching mean. New research should be done in order to evaluate the program acceptability and motivation.
