Abstract

KEBACH, Patrícia Fernanda Carmem. The construction of the hearing seriation: analysis through clinical methodology. Psicol. esc. educ. [online]. 2003, vol.7, n.1, pp. 85-96. ISSN 1413-8557.

This research shall cover the construction of the musical knowledge relating to the sound parameter pitch, through the differentiation of intervals of notes and the hearing seriation of the temperate scale. The theoretical foundations are to be found in the genetic epistemology of Piaget. For this observation, 18 subjects with age between 4 and 12 years are researched through the tests of seriation based on the clinical methodology of Piaget, used like methodological reference. The results confirmed the initial hypothesis: the construction of musical knowledge occurs in a form homologous to the levels investigated by the School of Geneva for other objects of knowledge. In addition to this confirmation, the novelty of this research is in the use of the clinical methodology and of an interactionist conception concerning the production of musical knowledge.

Keywords : Musical knowledge; Clinical methodology; Hearing seriation.
