The objective of this study was to analyse if the gender establishes significant differences in the levels and in the process of the Syndrome of Burnout in the teachers of the public schools. It also tried to identify associations if the dimensions of Burnout with demographic laboural and behavior variables. It was used as instrument of research MBI - Maslach Burnout Inventory and a questionnaire elaborated specially for this study for the other variables. The sample, of the convenience kind, was composed by 31 men and 30 women. The results gotten indicate there is no difference statistically significant between the groups in the dimensions and levels of burnout. Nevertheless, it is verified the occurrence of distinguishable association in the two groups between dimensions of burnout and determined demographic, professional and behavior variables.
