Abstract

This work wanted to identify and describe the objectives and the scientific methods of national researches about higher education that have approached the following themes: teaching staff, student body and teaching-apprenticeship process. Firstly, it was identified 34 researches, from a bibliographicsearch into two universities. Each document was read and analized, until there was an agreement betwen the judges. It was identified thatmost of the objectives of these works were about the categories: students body and teaching-apprenticeship process. Only one research used the experimental method and everyother research chosedescriptivedelineation. In most cases, the source of informations were first-year students and students about to graduate from different grades. It was also applied, for the most part, collective and printed instruments. In order to manage the data, it was utilized qualitativeand quantitativeprocedures, or even both.
