Abstract

VOKOY, Tatiana  and  PEDROZA, Regina Lúcia Sucupira. School psychology in childhood education: professional intervention's reflexions. Psicol. esc. educ. [online]. 2005, vol.9, n.1, pp. 37-46. ISSN 1413-8557.

The model of childhood education has been modified as that the child is seen as the subject of education, who needs qualified attendance. The work of the school psychologist involves questions related to the whole development of the child, including cognitive, affective and motor aspects. The research was developed at an institution of childhood education in Brasilia with the purpose to get to know both educational practices and the work of the school psychologist. Interviews with the pedagogical team and observations of school routine activities have been carried through. We conclude that the model of work of the psychologist must be based on a contextual, critical and interdisciplinary paradigm. This study intends to provide new possibilities to rethink the process of constructing the role of the school psychologist in childhood education.
