Abstract

The article deals with the history of Education Psychology in Brazil, through an analysis of the documentation relating to the curriculum of a normal course of a confessional catholic school sited in the city of São Paulo, between the years of 1941 and 1961, to understand how the Education Psychology was presented in the subjects Psychology, Pedagogy and Psychology and Pedagogy, in terms of contents, methods and Points of Examination. The findings showed that Education Psychology has been taught reflecting what, by that time, was recognized as being Educational Psychology, mixed with confessional contents that had influenced the way as the psychological theories were presented, specially the psychoanalysis, promoted a contribution to disseminate the Educational Psychology and Psychology as science, providing the pupils the subsidies to experience their social roles as mothers and wives, and primary teachers
