The aim of this article is to discuss the main theoretical matrices of psychology shown in the works presented at the work group of Educational Psychology of ANPEd, (National Association for Research and Post graduate studies in Education) from 1998 to 2008, highlighting Behavioral Theory, Psychoanalysis, Genetic Epistemology and Cultural/Historical Psychology. The text deals with the relation between Psychology and Education; the appropriation of psychological theories by education, and finally, the queries resulting from the research carried out which comprises the work group production. Finally, based on the vigotskian assumptions, it is understood that, regardless of the theoretical perspective adopted, one idea emphasized in this text is the defense of the necessity for theoretical bases in scientific productions, in addition to investment in knowledge appropriation by all individuals who undergo educational process.
