Abstract

FREITAS, Márcia de Fátima Rabello Lovisi de  and  BARBOSA, Altemir José Gonçalves. Self-efficacy and characteristics of giftedness and talent: scientometric analysis. Psicol. educ. [online]. 2011, n.33, pp. 77-93. ISSN 1414-6975.

To perform a scientometric analysis about giftedness and talent (G&T) and self-efficacy, indexed articles in ERIC and PsycINFO databases were retrieved. The search terms self-efficacy and gifted were used. A time interval was not specified. The scientific production that associate these variables is small (N = 38), is recent (1988) and is fragmented over the years. Descriptive empirical researches conducted with adolescents are predominant. These investigations are produced in samples consisting only of individuals with G&T as they compare to peers. The development of G&T and self-efficacy is the prevalent subject. Self-efficacy and G&T have significant scientific production one by one, but the association between these variables needs more researches.

Keywords : self-efficacy; giftedness; talent; scientific production.
