A program teaching to read words was evaluated in a study with 17 students (5-6 years old) in collective situation. Cards and the letters were used to teach and test the conditional relations between stimuli. The procedure included three phases: familiarization, and pre-teaching test; training relations between dictated and printed words, and selecting letters to construct words in response to such samples; post-teaching test including untrained words that could be read by generalization. Sixteen of the seventeen participants read with comprehension of most of the teaching words, five of these participants were able to read the generalization words, and six of them constructed correctly words with letters. It was concluded that the technology of stimulus equivalence is appropriate for collective teaching situations.
