Abstract

SILVEIRA, Luiza Maria de Oliveira Braga  and  WAGNER, Adriana. A interação família-escola diante dos problemas de comportamento da criança: estudos de caso. Psicol. educ. [online]. 2012, n.35, pp. 95-119. ISSN 2175-3520.

The present study intended to comprehend how family and school share the socialization of school-age children with behavioral problems, investigating the explanations that support the use and the continuity of educational practices in these systems. Three cases had been studied by interviews with parents and teachers of children from private schools in Porto Alegre, using a case study delineation. The interviews' content analysis revealed ambivalence regarding the child's problem behavior, the rigid definition of boundaries and the family and school knowledge, the discontinuity and ignorance about the educational practices and the communication difficulties. Data discussion highlights the lack of integrative family-school's models and the need for greater knowledge and boundaries' flexibility considering these systems.

Keywords : parents' and schools' educational practices; childhood behavioral problems; family-school relationship.
