In this paper we discuss contributions of historical cultural psychology of Vygotsky and dialogical theory of Bakhtin to the study of formation and work of teachers starting from the review of methodological aspects of a research about the elaborations that nursery school teachers do about their educational practices, when they take their own activity with the children as object of analysis. Focusing on an episode of dialogue between teachers, educational coordinator and researcher about an activity filmed in a nursery, we question, more specifically: what the subject sees when taking their own performance as the object of analysis; what and from which position the researcher, the teachers and the educational coordinator speak; and finally, the possibilities for educational practices development caused by joint analysis of work situations.
