Abstract

FRANCO, Maria Joselma do Nascimento  and  GONCALVES, Leiliane da Silva Micena. Pedagogical coordination and continuing teacher training: ways to professional emancipation or dependence. Psicol. educ. [online]. 2013, n.37, pp. 63-71. ISSN 1414-6975.

The research aims at the role of pedagogical coordinator with regard to the continuing teacher training. Takes as a problem: from what perspective the pedagogical coordinator develops continuing teacher training of elementary school teachers: the perspective of emancipation or dependence? The results point to a pedagogical coordination with dependence features, including the local political power. Contrary to the literature, the training does not appear to be an explicit assignment of the pedagogical coordinator. The training these coordinators do is linked to programs experienced at a Municipal Education Bureau, namely: IQE (Instituto Qualidade no Ensino) and IAB (Instituto Alfa e Beto). This is a contradiction which does not considers the needs of the school, which points to a formation characterized by dependence.

Keywords : continuing teacher training; pedagogical coordination; emancipation; dependence.
