The present study describes the work of an ecological psychologist in an institution for girls who were victims of violence, based on the Ecological Model of Human development. The integration of theory and practice is discussed, involving issues related to the daily life of the institution, the life history of the girls, and the cultural and social influence of the ecological systems. The results showed that the procedures adopted led to an improvement of the quality of professional services and a betterment of the life quality of the girls in the institution.
