The study of families as a whole and of couples in particular has undergone significant changes. Not only do research methods suit the complexity of the theme better, but also couples themselves have experienced deep transformations regarding relationship possibilities. In this article the emergence of one of these possibilities is outlined: dual career couples. The lack of social models that foresee this form of interaction is surpassed by the creativity with which these dyads cope with relational dilemmas. Psychologists must be prepared to face the specific suffering and relational wealth of this population.
