ZAREMBA, Raphael; ROMAO-DIAS, Daniela  e  NICOLACI-DA-COSTA, Ana Maria. Simples como uma torradeira: um estudo sobre o computador no cotidiano da nova geração. Psicol. cienc. prof. [online]. 2002, vol.22, n.1, pp. 92-99. ISSN 1414-9893.

The aim of this study was to investigate how children and teenagers deal with the ever-growing presence of computers and the Internet in their everyday lives. With this purpose, 10 to 15 year-old male and female subjects took part in an exploratory study. In order to gather data, a questionnaire composed of discursive questions was sent to them by e-mail. The information collected was analyzed in a qualitative manner using speech analysis techniques. Among the major results, the following are worth mentioning: the simple way that children and teenagers deal with the computer, the important role it plays in their school lives, the pleasure they derive from their interaction with the machine, and, especially, the aversion they have towards writing in opposition to the great fun they feel when typing.

Palavras-chave : Children; Computer; School; Writing x typing.
