This paper is a synthesis of the master`s degree dissertation “The Affectivity in the Dentistry for Babies: Places and Nuances” held in the University of São Paulo. From Guirado`s theorectical perspective (1986 e 1987), with the collaboration of three child dentists, there was an investigation of the affectivity in the Dentistry for babies through the representation analysis of professionals` speeches in twenty clinical sessions and personal interviews. Specific themes as the indiscrimination between dentist and patient as well as the possibility of transformation of the relationships of the researched area were concluded from this study.
