This research aims to show the profile of the hospital psychologist in Recife, emphasizing his/her underground education and performance, taking into account the fact that academic education doesn't offer enough subsidy for this practice. A questionnaire with multiple choice was made and applied to 51 professionals who have worked at hospitals. The results showed that academic studies weren't good enough to give professionals a basis for the work in hospitals. Due to the lack of research and publications the level of education doesn't help the students link their profession and research.
