This article focuses the issue of drug use and its relation to the prisional system. According to Michel Foucault, the power to punish is less likely to function as a mere repressive act towards the use of psychoactive substances. Its real purpose can be more accurately referred to the management of ilegalisms. The relations between power and knowledge - found within the disciplinary techniques - are related to the norm and to the production of truth.
