Although the terminology anxiety is not found in the literature of chinese traditional medicine, the described symptoms are studied widely. Such literature considers that pathology metaphorically as a discord of the spirit and presents a series of possibilities of interventions for traditional techniques as the acupuncture. The objective of this article was the treatment accomplished through acupuncture to a patient that presented anxiety disorder. After the confirmation of the diagnosis 10 sessions of chinese traditional acupuncture were accomplished, using as theoretical reference the classic literature of chinese medicine.
