Abstract

LIMA, Maria Valéria Pelosi Hossepian Salles. Russian icons illustrating the mother/baby relationship: clinical reflection. Psyche (Sao Paulo) [online]. 2004, vol.8, n.14, pp. 169-178. ISSN 1415-1138.

A visit to the “500 Years of Russian Art” resulted initially in a chronicle and afterwards in a reflection about the mother/baby relationship out of the observation of two cultural objects: the icons and the chronic. In this work, these objects will be taken as illustration of a relationship that bases, according to Winnicott, the child development. We go through its clinical unfolding and show that the perception of this phenomenon can determine the therapeutic strategy.

Keywords : Russian art; Mother/baby relationship; Emotional development; Clinic; Theory and technique.
