Abstract

PEIXEIRO, Maíra Humberto. The therapeutic accompaniment clinic: interventions when “disavowal” takes the scene. Psyche (Sao Paulo) [online]. 2006, vol.10, n.18, pp. 67-80. ISSN 1415-1138.

In this paper I intend to articulate the clinical experience of therapeutic accompaniment and psychoanalytic theory, using the disavowal concept (Freud’s Verleugnung) as a guide. I base the study on the clinical case of a patient I have been accompanying for about 18 months. I will reflect on the therapeutic accompaniment process, the interventions performed and its supposed effects, focusing mainly on the management, the setting up and the effects of a scene during the patient accompaniment.

Keywords : Therapeutic accompaniment; Clinic; Disavowal; Interventions; Scene.
