Abstract

TACHIBANA, Miriam; SANTOS, Laíse Potério  and  DUARTE, Claudia Aparecida Marchetti. The conflict between the conscious and the unconscious in unplanned pregnancy. Psyche (Sao Paulo) [online]. 2006, vol.10, n.19, pp. 149-167. ISSN 1415-1138.

The theme of the desire on getting pregnant demands more investigations, once conscious and the unconscious’s desire might necessarily linked, when unplanned pregnancy is concerned. To investigate the unconscious reasons on getting pregnant, we interviewed 12 pregnant women. The data was collected in two meetings and it was analyzed psychoanalytically and by certain categories. The obtained results revealed that, in some cases, the conscious reason against planning the pregnancy was exactly the reason why the patient had the unconscious desire on getting pregnant.
