The present article results from the clinical practice in mental health in a public hospital in Porto Alegre, which has as a proposal to follow the National Humanization Policy of the Ministry of Health as a way of respecting or including subjectivities by offering its services. The objective of this article is to discuss the notion of subjectivity in distinct clinical practices, through the presentation of the concept of the subject found in Descartes, Freud and Lacan.
