Abstract

CANEPPELE, Alessandra. Approaching aphasia and psychoanalysis: presuppositions and a study of a autobiographic narrative. Psyche (Sao Paulo) [online]. 2008, vol.12, n.22, pp. 79-96. ISSN 1415-1138.

In this paper, we read Zur Affassung der Aphasien not as a book referring to the origins of psychoanalysis, nor as a classic text about aphasia, but as a precursory occasion for the building of properly psychoanalytical findings on clinical reality of aphasia. We therefore investigated first the formation of the symptom of the rest of speech associating it with the speech appearing in dangerous situation. In a second moment, through the reading of the report made by the writer Cardoso Pires about his own aphasia in the book De Profundis, we suggested an existing relation, present in Freud’s text, between aphasia and anxiety position in the subject’s speech.

Keywords : Cerebral injury; Aphasia; Trauma; Anxiety; Speech.
