The present work describes the play therapy with a boy that had suffered family violence, analyzing within the emotional development proposed by Winnicott. The little patient was able to develop himself emotionally, building healthier aspects in his personality. The psychotherapeutic intervention, based on the great importance of Winnicottian comprehension of the human, thus offering the boy a new hope and a new sense of being.
