This paper presents a reflection on the importance of the use of literature in preschool. The paper gives emphasis to literature as a different writing form directed to children, different from pedagogic or informative writings. Considering the importance of the early experiences for subjective constitution and recognizing the value of literature for the humanization process, the author defends the idea that early contact with literature has a  fundamental role for the development of the reading subject.
