Resumen

BROSTOLIN, Marta Regina  y  CRUZ, Simone Figueiredo. Indigenous ethics and education: reflections on the meanings of learning in a differentiated cultural context. Constr. psicopedag. [online]. 2010, vol.18, n.16, pp. 45-54. ISSN 1415-6954.

This text in hand approaches the theme of indigenous peoples and education, with the intention of stimulating thought on the meanings of learning in a culturally different context, calling attention to the indigenous ethics universe that refers to their own ways of learning structured into the daily life of the community, where all are responsible in a process that permeates the whole of indigenous life. This indigenous pedagogy at a given moment is influenced by school education that for a long time had the character of integrating and assimilating indigenous peoples, but which at the moment, is coming to be understood as an instrument for empowering the struggle to guarantee their rights of autonomy and sustainability. Psychopedagogy can and should contribute to the deepening of indigenous learning considering cultural differences and ways of teaching and learning.

Palabras clave : Indigenous peoples; Education; Meanings of learning; Autonomy.
