Abstract

NOBRE, Maria da Penha Pereira. Traffic conflicts: can interventions or psyschopedagogical moderations help in the relationship between operational agents and surveillance agents in dealing with drivers?. Constr. psicopedag. [online]. 2010, vol.18, n.16, pp. 94-111. ISSN 1415-6954.

This work presents a distinguished way to observe the behavior of transit and traffic operational and control agents, and their participation in conflicts with drivers, under an interdisciplinary focus and professional ethics, considering in addition the relationship teaching/learning, looking for the relevant questions that influence their attitudes. Research was done with three groups of agents classified according to three basic types: Agents with a very low self steam, that consider themselves as a “nothing”, a simple bug, something bad, a scapegoat, someone that attracts bad and wrong things and that are disliked by the population; Agents that are professional in their actions, not sensible to the occurrences at the transit authority headquarter which they work for, or to their personal problems and Agents that feel they are super heroes, having the power to solve all the problems that might happen. The two groups with greater professional experience (more than 6 years) had similar results, different from the group that was being prepared and that did not have yet experience as agents. The research provided evidence that by using psychopedagogical interventions and moderations, it is possible to provoke them to reflect about their behavior and change their attitudes, leading in this way to the possibility of reducing their involvement in conflicts with the drivers in traffic and transit occurrences.
