Abstract

PEREIRA, Ane Caroline de Souza  and  PERES, Maria Regina. The child and the foreign language: psychopedagogical contributions to the teaching and the learning process. Constr. psicopedag. [online]. 2011, vol.19, n.18, pp. 38-64. ISSN 1415-6954.

The human capacity for learning languages has always generated interest and expectations of theorists. Today, those interests are also part of the parent's routine that sees in the foreign languages the possibility of personal and professional children growth. This work aims to investigate what, according to parents are the most important factors for the learning foreign language of your children and from this context, and indicate psychopedagogical contributions to enrich this process. Thirty semi-structured questionnaires were completed by parents of pupils between seven and eleven aged. The results reveal the existence of learning expectations that can both benefit or affect the learners, if they are not developed in a healthy way. Facing a possible immediate learning and no significance, we observed that the process of teaching and learning of foreign language of the present day has needs improvement. For this, we propose a psychopedagogical work with the possibility of argument among parents, learners and especially, among the schools.
