Abstract

This paper intends to discuss on the basis of sociohistorical psychology the constitutive aspects of docent mediation, here included the forms by which it affects the student's learning process and the teacher's development itself. After a brief presentation of the development genesis of human psyche, based on Vigotski and his followers, we focus the mediation category in a broader sense in order to detain ourselves at the specific characteristics of the docent mediation and how it embodies itself in the teacher activity, taking into account its cognitive, cultural, politic and affective aspects. At the end, we stress the weight of the initial and ongoing formation in order to enable the teacher to practise a mediation of quality, capable of promoting the student's learning process as well as his integral development.
