This paper reports the proposal, assumptions and development of the course "Teachers training: memories and identity", offered to master's and doctoral students at the PPGE (Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação - Graduate Studies Program in Education), at UMESP (Methodist University of São Paulo). The aims and objectives of the course focus on analyzing and discussing the social-historical context of teachers training processes as well as of the teaching profession in interaction with teachers' educational background and teaching practice (the so-called self-narratives), in the presence of challenges, contradictions, demands and influences in constructing professional identity within school daily life and teaching. Besides, during the course, participants are expected to read and discuss several texts about teachers training, life stories, memories and (auto)biographies, resulting in an exercise based on all participants' self-narratives in order to retrieve their educational and professional experience. This will culminate in a workshop entitled "Patchwork: our memories, our stories…".
