This study is an experience report developed in the area of Educational School Psychology. It was carried out in a public school located in the interior of São Paulo. Its objective is to present experiences and actions developed in an intervention project whose purpose was to develop social skills with 30 students from the 6th grade of the elementary school and their teachers. A number of ten systematized meetings were carried out by means of experiences and group dynamics that happened weekly on alternate days and hours with an average duration of 50 minutes. It was verified that the development of this project enabled the participants to reflect and change their behaviors. We concluded the development of social skills must occur during the whole learning process since an elaborate repertory of such skills is considered an indicator of psychosocial adjustment, which fosters the healthy development and contributes to the academic competence.
