ANGELINI, Arrigo Leonardo. Cross-Cultural Psychology and Educational Psychology: a historic contribution. Bol. - Acad. Paul. Psicol. [online]. 2007, vol.27, n.2, pp. 39-46. ISSN 1415-711X.
This article is based on a lecture delivered during "Primeras Jornadas Nacionales de Psicologia Escolar", which took place in Caracas - Venezuela in April 1980. The retaking of this subject at this moment is justified for being a historic subsidy of a branch in Psychology that gained force as from the decade of the 60's of last century. At that time, Cross-Cultural research in Psychology was merely rehearsing its first steps toward the introduction of a new dimension in the analysis and interpretation of human behavior: the sociocultural variable. The psychologists, notedly the North Americans, accostumed to an ethnocentric position in Psychology, began to worry about the new approach: the Cross- Cultural one. Consequences for the study of human behavior are evident, specially in the context of education.
