Each pain is the pain of a person, with its characteristics: personality, biography, race, context, moment. Some pain conditions cannot be cured by either medical or psychological treatment. When the best medical care cannot significantly reduce pain, psychological intervention is often undertaken to help the patient function while suffering with an ongoing pain problem. These are complex and very deep pains, that involve patient and family, fear, frustration, sadness, spiritualism.
