Abstract

BENETTI, Idonézia Collodel. Social psychology and the lost infancy in "City of God". Bol. - Acad. Paul. Psicol. [online]. 2013, vol.33, n.85, pp. 388-404. ISSN 1415-711X.

Theoretical in nature, this paper aims at relating the theories of Social Psychology to some discussions that emerge from the context of the film City of God. The lost of infancy is captured in a way that the audience has the Brazilian present situation of violence closer - mainly the ones experienced in the big urban centers in that country. In this case, it is the Art showing life inside the context of City of God, a place that presents marginalization, invisibility, denial of the public services, omission, abandonment and children and adolescents without defense. This frame of suffering will serve as the basis to illustrate and attach some questions related to the Social Psychology, which is anchored on the pillars of attention, respect and citizenship to the excluded and invisibles, advocating in favor of opportunities for the human valorization to promote human development. Academic theory and cinematography are intertwined pointing out and establishing contact between the two versions - one from the field of cinema and other born in the Academia.
