At the Solemn Session of the Sao Paulo Academy, held on September 18, 2013, the author presents this work on the life and work of Prof. Dr. Doris Lieth Nunes Peçanha, hailing her because of her taking office in the Chair 19. Presents her training in Psychology, Literature, Management, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy of Work, professional practice and post-doctorates, as well as her contribution to the health of children, families and organizations, highlighting her collaboration on the internationalization of Psychology. Highlights the many sites where the psychologist acted, emphasizing in all of them her clinical-systemic understanding. Presents her production and contribution to the construction of psychological science, the dissemination of knowledge and innovations. Highlights excerpts from one of the books of the researcher, evidencing the health, quality of life and care. Concludes that her work and her life, as a whole, connect to "taking care": of the environment and the human being, enlacing knowledge and contacts that build the "web of life".
