This paper presents considerations on the importance of the study of political, economic and cultural history of society to understand the construction of psychological science and the development of its theories and concepts. The history of psychology is marked by social events, especially those that have a great impact on the development of society and individuals within it. One example is the great world wars, which skirted the knowledge and study of the great psychologists of that historical moment. In the history books of modern psychology it is quite common to find a chronology dating the events and movements of history, but it still contains a modest explanation of the impact of these historical movements in Psychological Science. Thus, the intention of this paper is to highlight the recent history of social psychology and its division between psychological and social psychology, which is modeled and constructed in relation to the actual events of the society and according to the conditions for research and study in which science has been developing. In the context of Social Psychology, Social Representations Theory can be understood as a conciliatory theory of Cartesian division between psychological and sociological. For this work we resort to books and articles that bring contributions to the history of psychology as a science and also about the history of social psychology, and related to the construction of the theory of social representations. We consider at the end of this study that Theory of Social Representations, created by social psychologist Serge Moscovici proposes dialogicity between subject and society when considering both individuals and socials elements in the constitution of the subjects and the explanation of human behavior.
