The high number of deaths and serious injuries in traffic accidents, the high cost they represent to governments, are some of the reasons for searches to be expanded in this area. The use of alcohol and disregard for safety standards are seen as risky behavior in traffic. All users of the traffic, in other words, drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists have to be sensitized to avoid risky behaviors. Some evidence indicates that religious people tend to maintain healthy lifestyle habits, such as not using legal and illegal drugs, and generally respect the rules and others. The purpose of this article is to review the literature to check the existence of studies that correlate the religion of the driver and their involvement in traffic accidents. The method used was the literature surveys in Psycoinfo Data Bases, Psyarticles, Portal Capes, Web of Science and SciELO. Seven research projects were selected for study traffic accident and the religion of the sample. No studies that specifically correlate religion of the driver and his involvement in the accident was found. The selected research has shown the influence of the habits of drivers and their behavior in traffic. Studying the relationship of religion in the habits of drivers can provide important elements for the development of a traffic education program, accident prevention and driver training. Noted the necessity of conducting research that foster better understand the characteristics and habits of religious people and how these data can contribute to the development of prevention of risk behavior in traffic programs.
