I thank the Sao Paulo Academy of Psychology, in the person of its president Prof. Dr. Arrigo Leonardo Angelini, as well as its board and all members, for the election and the opportunity to participate in this body, for what I have proposed in the Psychology area. I take office of the Chair no.16, Theodorus Van Kolck, formerly occupied by Odette Lourenção Van Kolck. In the following text, I try to make it evolve along the path traced by the works performed by me, and thereby answer questions such as the approach in psychology, basic issues in the research on sleep and dream, presentation to professionals, questions asked by authors at the present time, provision for continuing the work pointed out by them, which I realize, at this moment, to be in line with the aspects dealed by me. The cited references demonstrate such approaches, as well as the recognition that the development of these issues will favor the follow-up in theory and practice, with a view to actions for the benefit of humanity
