The text presents the speech by Leila Tardivo when taking office of Chair 23 at the Sao Paulo Academy of Psychology, and is dedicated to the icons of Brazilian Psychology who have previously occupied the chair: Dante Moreira Leite, the patron, and the last occupant, Geraldina Porto Witter. It begins with an introduction, with the thanks and memories of the new occupant of the chair. Then the data of the remarkable, although short, life and work of Professor Dante Moreira Leite are summarized, and his dedication to university education and academic research. He performed these functions with great dedication and competence. It highlights some of the books written by the teacher, as well as his translations of important works in Psychology. Professor Moreira Leite left a relevant work and good memories by those who had the opportunity to meet him and live with him. The same could be said about Professor Geraldina Porto Witter, who wrote her biography in 2004, when she completed fifty years of profession. She wrote with academic scientific rigor, much emotion and love. She continued producing until 2014. Professor Geraldina refers to teaching as her choice: the text shows her development in the profession, her dedication to students, mentees, and life devoted to the Brazilian universities. The conclusion of the text brings the intentions of the author and new occupant of the chair with the proposal to dedicate further to the Sao Paulo Academy of Psychology
