LUCCHESE, Gabrielle dos Santos; AVOGLIA, Hilda Rosa Capelão and SILVA, Patrícia Oliveira. The psychodinamics and Ego defense mechanisms in women victims of violence. Bol. - Acad. Paul. Psicol. [online]. 2017, vol.37, n.92, pp. 24-39. ISSN 1415-711X.
This study is about domestic violence against women, a phenomena discussed worldwide in means of communications, also in academic venues. Domestic violence against women is a global and multifactorial issue. In this direction, this study aimed to identify psychodynamic aspects, such as Ego defense mechanisms in women victims of violence. For this purpose, the technique of a graphic projective test entitled "Drawing a person in the rain" was used, and a semi structured interview. The subjects of this study were four volunteered women who pressed charges against their mates in two police stations for women, located at Diadema and São Bernardo do Campo, cities of "Greater ABC- SP". Considering the standardized indicators of the test, a qualitative psychoanalytic interpretation was the methodology used for analyzing the results. It was found that the women present themselves excessively immature and vulnerable, being exposed to all kinds of pressure. Furthermore, their Ego is weakened and poorly adapted to the environment, once again distorting reality and favoring violence. Remaining in abusive relationships can be seen as a result of possible depression and melancholy. Likewise, isolating themselves from others can be a risk factor. This study in short contributes for clinic research, scientific research and public policies, which could contribute for becoming more alert to the problematic
