Abstract

TOLEDO, Renata Runavicius  and  ASSUMPCAO JR., Francisco Baptista. The passionate's one desire in marital and extramarital relations: a narrative review of literature?. Bol. - Acad. Paul. Psicol. [online]. 2017, vol.37, n.93, pp. 375-392. ISSN 1415-711X.

The main characteristic of passionate love is excessive experience, difficult to control by reason. In marital and extramarital relations, the desire of the lover may have a pathological / narcissistic or healthy destiny. To carry out this narrative review, articles of printed and / or electronic magazines of the last eighteen years of publication were used. The search terms (keywords) considered were: passion; marital relationships, extramarital relationships, and desire. The databases accessed: Index Psi, PsycINFO, Web of Science, Medline, SciELO, Bireme and BVS-Psi. Eleven publications in Brazilian journals and also literature published in classic books and texts have been considered in this review, reflecting in some way the question of passion, desire of the lover and marital and extramarital relations. An anthropological model of a desiring and missing man is being taken into account. Most of the articles described the passion associating - as well to the psychopathology of the love link or narcissistic experience. No articles were found that presented the love passion understood only in health settings. The search term "extramarital relationship" in the searched databases presented, for the most part, the extraconjugality associated with perversion (the other objectified), or as infidelity to social morality (breaking social laws) or, also, infidelity to the other. It is concluded that passionate people living the passion in conjugality find greater freedom in the fulfillment of their desires, in opposition to the passionate one who experiences the extra-marvelous passion that, although it fulfills his/her desire, finds him/herself entangled by the social demands

Keywords : Passionate love; Desire; Marital relations; Extramarital relations.
