GOMES, Ingridd Raphaelle Rolim  y  FERNANDES, Sheyla C. S. The permanence of women is abusive relationships in the light of the theory of planned action. Bol. - Acad. Paul. Psicol. [online]. 2018, vol.38, n.94, pp. 55-66. ISSN 1415-711X.

Based on the numbers of violence against women, in its most varied ways, frighteningly maximizing it, there is a growing number of studies that aim to understand the aspects that involves the permanence of women in abusive relationships. The literature has indicated several factors that contribute to the permanence of women in abusive relationships, such as: financial dependence, psychological dependence, fear of dying, hope of changing the partner, feelings of devaluation, inferiority and guilt, among others. The present study aims to identify, in scientific production, studies that investigate the permanence of women in abusive relationships, based on the Theory of Planned Action and / or Rational Action Theory. For that, descriptors were used in Portuguese, English and Spanish in six databases. The results show that, despite the large number of studies identified, only three used the Planned Action Theory / Rational Action Theory to explain such behavior, two of them were theoretical articles and one was an empirical article. All studies refer to the nomological validity of this theoretical model. In addition, the results allow us to suggest empirical studies that consider women of different age groups, ethnic groups, scholarity and social class, to expand the considerations made about the permanence of women in abusive relationships
