Abstract

ALMEIDA, Thiago de  and  DOURADO, Laisa Martins. Considerations about love, jealousy and selfishness: a brazilian literature integrative review. Bol. - Acad. Paul. Psicol. [online]. 2018, vol.38, n.95, pp. 179-190. ISSN 1415-711X.

The objective of this work was to identify in the Brazilian academic literature contents related to love, lack of love, selfishness and jealousy, which often appear associated to the affective-sexual relationships context. For this, an integrative review of literature was performed using data from PubMed, PsycINFO, SciELO and PePSIC indexes, using these descriptors for the search: "love", "selfishness" and "jealousy". Eleven studies were selected and analyzed, according to the established criteria. It was observed from the data that some relationships between these terms such as love and jealousy are more frequently addressed in the scientific literature. However, other important relationships such as jealousy and selfishness, and love and selfishness, are little explored and even neglected by science, especially Psychology.

Keywords : Love; Jealousy; Selfishness.
