Abstract

DAMINI, Eduardo Marchese  and  AVOGLIA, Hilda Rosa Capelão. Adolescent and migrant: a study on the construction of identity. Bol. - Acad. Paul. Psicol. [online]. 2018, vol.38, n.95, pp. 259-265. ISSN 1415-711X.

The present study aimed to analyze the psychodynamic aspects underlying the construction of the identity of a migrant adolescent. This is a case study involving a 13-year-old female migrant from the interior of the state of Bahia, a third-grade elementary school student from a public school in the peripheral region of the Greater ABC-SP region. The semi-directed interview, the Design-Story with Theme (DE-T) procedure and the production of a photograph that represented her were used, and later, the data were analyzed qualitatively from a psychoanalytic perspective. The results indicated feelings of loss linked to the separation of the family and the native land, that compromised the construction of her identity, generating anguish in the face of the challenges faced in adapting to the new reality. By separating from the place of infancy, one is faced with the possibility of intellectual development, which gratifies and enlightens it, at the same time that the anguish demands learning and attitudes in the face of the teaching that it does not yet possess, being thus compelled to construct her identity in another space of coexistence.
