Abstract

COZZOLINO, Adna Sepulvida Maciel; GATTI, Ana Lúcia  and  SALLES, Rodrigo Jorge. Activity, feelings and perceptions of women facing the aging process. Bol. - Acad. Paul. Psicol. [online]. 2019, vol.39, n.96, pp. 25-32. ISSN 1415-711X.

The growth of the elderly population, especially women, is a fact in our country and in the world. Among other factors, the physical, social and labor activities have been pointed as a way to increase the quality of life in aging. The comparison between the perception of active and non-active elderly women revealed by the Senior Aperception Test was the objective of this research. Two groups of eight participants, aged between60 and 75 years, underwent a sociodemographic questionnaire and responded to eight test boards. The results revealed no difference between the groups and evidenced the predominance of little depth in investigating the situations, scarce incidence of references about feelings toward aging and prospects for the future. The results confirmed the need for further studies with the instrument, with more control of the variables and increased number of participants, to checkits range and obtain more knowledge about the age group.
