Resumen

COBO, Viviane de Almeida; DAL FABBRO, Amaury Lelis; PARREIRA, Ana Carolina Serafim Prata  y  PARDI, Fernanda. Palliative care in primary health care: the perspective of health professionals. Bol. - Acad. Paul. Psicol. [online]. 2019, vol.39, n.97, pp. 225-235. ISSN 1415-711X.

With reference to Palliative Care (PC), Primary Health Care (PHC) and Integrality, PHC seems to be an appropriate scenario for PC. Therefore, the objective was to identify how PC is understood and performed in PHC. Thirteen professionals were interviewed, the analysis employed was Descriptive Statistics and Content Analysis. As results and conclusion it was found that professionals have general and empirical concepts of PC and more specific ones of PHC. The "empirical training" comes from the practice that aims at quality of life and humanized care, without having training and discussion about PC in PHC. There is demand and awareness about PC in PHC, although not fully realized, there is lack of qualification and structure, and such care is a possibility. PHC is made by professionals identified with its principles and guidelines, directed by its demand, and there is a culture that imposes an immediate view on health.

Palabras clave : palliative care; health psychology; health professionals training.
