Resumen

CASTILHO, Jessica Dias et al. Return to work after traffic accidents: an integrative literature review. Bol. - Acad. Paul. Psicol. [online]. 2019, vol.39, n.97, pp. 225-235. ISSN 1415-711X.

consequences of the impossibility of returning to work of victims of traffic accidents are not limited only to financial losses. They interfere with predisposition of the victims to resume their social, career and daily lives prior to the accident. The objective of this article is to identify factors that help and hinder the resumption of the labor activity of these individuals. For doing so, an integrative review of national and international literature was carried out in the last five years using descriptors related to the theme. The results elicited 19 researches within the established criteria, contemplating themes about return to work, rehabilitation, psychological consequences and career development. The need of professional follow-up for this population was evidenced, motivated by factors of physical sequelae, guilt, depression, anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, as well as psychosocial sequelae detrimental to resume work activities. The limitations of the work are focused in the search of information only in Portuguese and English, and the use of few keywords. The psychologist's practices in this context should be expanded and address the theme of professional reorientation, career adaptability and employability. In addition, it is important that studies about this theme should be broadened to improve the understanding of this specific population.

Palabras clave : traffic; return to work; traffic accidents; professional development.
