Abstract

MORINA, Maria de Fátima  and  KANAANE, Roberto. The teacher as a mediator in the development of students' leadership: psychosocial perspective. Bol. - Acad. Paul. Psicol. [online]. 2020, vol.40, n.98, pp. 35-49. ISSN 1415-711X.

The aim of this article was to identify the self-perception of the technical teacher regarding his preparation and his responsibility in the development of leadership skills of young students. The methodology assumed qualitative research character focusing on the case study approach. The following techniques were adopted: participant observation and questionnaire. The result showed that teachers partially perceive themselves as leaders in their professional role and believe they have the necessary skills for this purpose, but tend not to prioritize their skills. On the other hand, they tend to perceive themselves partly as a model and as directly responsible for the development of young student leadership as a key transversal competency.

Keywords : leadership; young; psychosocial; teacher; development.
